Lois Hole Hospital
On April 25th, 2006 the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation (RAHF) launched a fundraising campaign to benefit the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, currently under construction on the RAH campus.
The new Lois Hole Hospital for Women, when it opens in 2008, will be unlike any other facility in the Capital Health region, and probably in the province. The goal is to create a hospital where, when women walk through the doors they’ll know they are entering a special place – a place designed just for them where they can get the specialized care and treatment that they need.
On one hand, the Lois Hole Hospital will offer those women who are most disadvantaged – including those facing poverty and language barriers in our immediate community – with access to services that meet their unique needs. At the same time, it will expand and enhance the Royal Alexandra Hospital Women's Health Program as a recognized centre of excellence for high-risk obstetrics for women in Western Canada , as well as other specialized services including oncology, urogynecology and infertility treatments. These services are provided to women throughout the region, with specialized services being provided to women from northern and central Alberta and Canada’s northwest.
