Edmonton Police giving us more details from a story 630 CHED News first told you about this morning.

They've pressed charges surrounding the alleged assault of a young girl at Victoria School, last month, and another girl a few blocks away, later that day.

Police Chief Mike Boyd says the suspected child serial predator is facing a variety of charges, including aggravated sexual assault and uttering death threats.

23-year-old Johnathan Quinn Lewis made a court appearance today and has been remanded in custody for a one-week psychiatric assessment. (jn-ccg)

CHED News has learned of an arrest in connection with a physical assault on a girl in a washroom at Victoria School almost a month ago.

The man, already identified by police as the prime suspect in a shockingly similar incident at Oliver School last April, is expected in court today.

CHED News has been told forensic evidence along with an exhaustive police investigation led to the suspect's arrest late last week.

On Monday, January 8th two grade 3 girls entered a washroom at Victoria School and one was assaulted by a man hiding inside.

Sources tell CHED News the man in custody will be charged with the attack at Victoria School and may be charged a second time with the assault at Oliver School.

Earlier charges laid in that incident were withdrawn by the Crown for lack of evidence.
