Leroy Chahley Remembered

EDMONTON/630CHED - Leroy Chahley is being remembered for his 40 years of public service in Edmonton.
The former police chief spent 35 years with the Edmonton Police Service, then served nine years on City Council.
Jim Taylor tells 630 CHED News he's happy Chahley is getting this public recognition, after wanting to be in the background, even during three terms on Council
"He lived a very quiet life," Taylor said at the memorial service. "He wasn't out there in the media or anything, and I think after this time to have people like Bob Lunney come in - who lives in Toronto - former police chief, and all of these service guys and other people who weren't with the police service who were here today, I just think it's great that he's getting that recognition after being out of the public eye for five years."
Chahley passed away on January 27th.
