"Tasered" Teen Testifies

EDMONTON/630CHED - Evidence could wrap Wednesday, in the trial of a city police officer charged with assaulting a teenage suspect.
32-year-old Todd Hudec was charged after he zapped a 15-year-old break-and-enter suspect with a taser at the north-end police station in December 2003.
The teen - who cannot be identified because of his age - maintained Hudec had no reason to Taser him because he was being co-operative and didn’t threaten him.
The police officer has a different story.
Last summer, a judge in youth court stayed charges against the teen, saying his rights had been violated. She then zapped Hudec, saying he attacked the teen without warning and for no justifiable reason.
On the stand Tuesday afternoon, the teen stood his ground against Hudec’s lawyer.
