Highway Driving Heads Up - 6am update
Feb, 01 2007 - 5:40 AM
EDMONTON/630CHED - Blowing snow and black ice have combined to make highway driving a challenge around metro. The QE2 is particularily bad south of Edmonton. Duncan Prescott at Park n Fly airport parking tells CHED News arriving drivers are telling him about dozens of vehicles in the ditch between south Edmonton and the airport exit. South of Leduc even semi trailer rigs slithered off the road like a bunch of drunken snakes. Highways north, west and east of the city are almost as bad. RCMP say non essential highway travel should be put off until later this morning. In the city, sanding crews have been working all night but many intersections and major roadways remain very slippery with black ice.
