Adler's Oil Debate
Feb, 02 2007 - 4:20 PM

EDMONTON/630CHED - CHED's Adler On-Line looks to be shaping up to be a forum for the debate on Alberta's booming economy.

First, Ontario Liberal MP Mark Holland said a federal government with his party in charge would try to balance things out in the oilsands, environmentally, and to let infrastructure, employment and just about everything else catch up.

Friday, former Premier Ralph Klein tells CHED's Adler, the oil companies are aware of what's going on, and they will handle it themselves, economically and environmentally.

When he was leaving office, Klein did admit his government was caught off-guard by the oil and economic boom, which is partly to blame for a lack of roads, schools and hospitals in booming cities, and likely a lack of skilled tradespeople and professionals.
